Vogue beckons Kate Middleton

Now its the turn of the globe’s highly popular fashion magazine to chase the Duchess of Cambridge for its dream cover, which is hardly surprising considering the incredible fan-following Prince William’s beautiful wife enjoys, world over.

Vogue British Editor Alexandra Shulman

Author and British Editor of Vogue Alexandra Shulman has spoken about her keen desire to have Duchess Catherine on the cover of the most coveted fashion magazine.

Just last night (May 16th 2012) at the ‘Fashion and Fantasy: What's in Vogue and Why Does It Matter?’  Gala event in London, Shulman openly told the audience "I'd love to have Kate Middleton on the cover. I assure you it is not for want of asking!"

Suffice to surmise from the above that the ‘Kate effect’ is working its magic on magazines as well. However, with the hawk-eyed St. James Palace keeping a close watch on the Duchess, its doubtful royal fans will get to see Kate Middleton grace the covers of Vogue, any time soon.

to see her grace the Vogue cover

Now this conjecture need not be taken wrongly, because it will undoubtedly happen eventually. After all don’t forget both Kate Middleton and her hubby Prince William have already been clicked by eminent photographer Mario Testino.

Not to forget that even Prince Williams’ mother, the late Princess Diana (Princess of Wales) has been snapped innumerable times and graced the covers of prestigious publications such as Vanity Fair and Vogue.

Other than speaking out about her fantasy cover celebrity, Editor Shulman also underscored about what goes on to make a super selling cover girl and what factor does not.

According to Shulman, while no doubt Adele is one of the most admired women in the world, but she also happens to be one of the worst sellers. Generally speaking music women "haven't sold well at all,” opines Shulman.

Taking on from there, the Vogue biggie informs, "I find there has to be a relationship with the person on the cover that goes beyond how they look. Our most successful cover was the millennium issue - which didn't have anyone on it, but acted like a mirror so you could see your own reflection!"

  1. I am much prettier, and I have experience as an actress, singer, and model. Put me on your cover, Vogue.
