Only the crème de la crème of world royalty were handed out personal invites to attend the Queen's Jubilee luncheon on Friday, May 18th as part of her diamond jubilee celebrations. However, there was one Kiwi name on everyone’s lips at the special occasion. And that was Emilia Wickstead.

28-year old Wickstead hails from Auckland. She is the creative brain behind Duchess Catherine’s pretty pink pastel dress worn at the exclusive soiree. The demure yet stylish outfit is minimalist with clean lines. It has a  long sleeve and a pleated skirt which ends just above the knees.

Photographs of this sleek pink dress costing £1,200 ($2,500), have been splashed world over. Michele Whitecliffe, founder of Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design in New Zealand, believes the publicity thus generated has been invaluable.

"Money can't buy that sort of endorsement. Kate Middleton is the most admired woman in the world right now and Emilia will be riding the wave of success," said Michele.

Further according to the Wickstead founder, "Kate is the personification of elegance. She's tall, she has an amazing figure, she looks amazing.” “I'm sure Emilia's business will grow enormously," added  Michele optimistically.

Another fashion expert to give the thumbs up to the Duchess of Cambrige, is Amber Whitecliffe, a fashion commentator and blogger. According to Amber, Kate Middleton was a perfect fit with Wickstead's brand: "It sends that message of being elegant, sophisticated and glamorous," opined Amber.

With Duchess Kate giving her seal of approval by wearing Emilia Wickstead’s creation to the Queen’s Jubilee lunch, there is now no stopping Wickstead business from taking off.  Kim Ellet, a product placement agent also agreed that Wickstead's business would boom.

Just as it had when on St. Patrick’s Day in February, Duchess Kate had worn a different Wickstead outfit. "Anything Kate wears get world-wide attention and tends to sell out the next day. All of a sudden, people will be seeking out that designer. This is huge for her," said Kim Ellet.

The luncheon hosted for world royals was in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond jubilee – 60 years of Queen Elizabeth II's reign.
