The statuesque Duchess of Cambridge looked the very picture of classiness as she flew in solo to the glitzy event at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, last Monday (July 30).
The former Kate Middleton was welcomed to the Academy by its President, Christopher Le Brun.
Duchess Kate looked gorgeous attired in a classy grey dress designed by Roksanda Ilincic, as she walked the pink carpet outside the swanky portals of the Royal Academy of Arts.
[For those interested in the dress design, here is a description. It is light blue grey in color with a draped neck to one side. It has cap sleeves with pleats down from drape neck to waist band. It has a pleated skirt, white tulle neckline and cuff trim. There are centre back pleats and small pleated panels from back waist band. It also has exposed centre back zip and there is a beige grosgrain front tie.]

The event was a reception hosted by British govt. for the GREAT Campaign. It’s an endeavor to capitalize on the global exposure Britain is receiving from the Olympic and Paralympic Games. In the bargain the govt. hopes to promote the nation’s culture, arts, business and entertainment, hoping to reap tangible benefits during the next few weeks.
Duchess Kate had paired her sleek dress with grey suede shoes. The new pair of shoes is from LK Bennett, the Harper. The Harper shoes in taupe suede, comes in a variety of colors. It has a hidden platform, a 110 mm heel (approx. 4.5″) and a rounded toe; it is currently selling for £195, approx. $275 USD)
Catherine had worn her hair up in a stylish chignon and offset the look with a custom Kiki McDonough blue topaz and diamond earrings, the cute pair which we have often seen the 30-year-old wearing at several functions. She carried with her the same sleek bag, which she had previously carried at the private dinner at Claridge’s.

As is now the Duchess’ signature style, this time around too, the designer dress she wore is a recycled version of the Roksanda Ilincic ‘Peridot’ dress. It may be recalled that Duchess Kate was earlier snapped wearing the dress during her North American tour last summer, informs the Daily Mail.
